WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling is commonly known as "collagen induction therapy" because it stimulates the body's own natural collagen production process from within. As we age, our ability to produce collagen and elastin drastically drops leading to loss of elasticity and wrinkle formation.
Microneedling creates tiny micro-channels in into the deeper layers of the skin where collagen and elastin are produced. A topical numbing cream is used to ensure the treatment is comfortable for you and the needling treatment is performed very quickly (15 - 20 minutes on average).

It is not necessary to take time off work, however, your skin will be red for a period of 1-3 days on average. If you are self conscious then it is advisable to book the treatments when you can have some relaxation days at home and not have to worry about your appearance.

Results will be noticeable after a single session, however collagen stacks up in layers and each time you receive Microneedling, the results will build on the previous session with better results each time. Best results are 3 treatments at 1 month intervals.

Results typically last from 1 - 2 years, however it is advisable to get a touch up single session every 6 - 9 month to maintain the results longer. As with any investment, regular maintenance prolongs the results.

A post treatment kit will be sent home with you along with an aftercare instruction sheet. Caring for your skin will include using the products in the kit for one week and avoiding the sun for a minimum of one week. Heat such as saunas, hot tubs, steam showers and excessive exercising will need to be avoided for 48 hours after treatment. Post-care will be reviewed with you to ensure you are fully informed and will have a great experience.

Down time of 48 hours is suggested as the skin may be red and inflamed for a period of 2 - 5 days after treatment. Sun exposure must be avoided for a minimum of 1 week after treatment to avoid any pigment formation from sun damage. Results are visible after a single session, and best results can be observed with 3 sessions performed one month apart.
